Spring is just around the corner and, of course, that means that Spring/Summer trends will be in full bloom!  Last September, the runways were full of beautiful trends for Spring/Summer 2017.  I was lucky enough to see some of the trends as I attended New York Fashion Week.  I have narrowed down the trends to my Top 10 most prevalent trends that we will see this season.

1.     Statement Tees

From New York to Paris, Statement Tees were all over the runways.  With messages ranging from political to self-promoting of a designer’s own brand, these Statement Tees can be paired with just about anything and still look chic!

Here are some designers who showed Statement Tees for Spring/Summer 2017:

  • Haider Ackermann
  • Baja East
  • Michael Kors
  • Christian Dior

2.     Pink Hues

Pink, in all different shades, was seen on the Spring/Summer 2017 runway.  From baby pink to raspberry, pink was a dominant force among almost all the collections.

Here are some designers that displayed various shades of pink:

  • Celine
  • Balenciaga
  • Valentino

3.     Flower Power

Flowers are expected for Spring, but the floral patterns will be more dense this season.

Some designers who debuted all-over floral prints in their collections were as follows:

  • Michael Kors Collection
  • Balenciaga
  • Chloe

4.     Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits have become a staple in any season’s wardrobe, but this season they are especially prevalent.

Some designers who have shown jumpsuits on the Spring/Summer wardrobe are:

  • Hermes
  • Isabel Marant
  • Vanessa Seward

5.     Shades of Yellow

Various shades of yellow were a hit in all four cities!  There is no doubt that this summer will be beaming with sunshine!

Some designers that showed yellow hues on their runways are:

  • Chloe
  • Bottega Veneta
  • Gucci
  • Delpozo
  • Coach
  • Jason Wu
  • Erin Fetherston
  • Kate Spade New York

6.     Shirtdress

Menswear has often been an influence on women’s fashions and this season the Shirtdress keeps many of the masculine qualities of its predecessor.

The Shirtdress has been seen on the runways of the following designers:

  • Balenciaga
  • Alexander Wang
  • Rag & Bone
  • 3.1 Phillip Lim
  • Banana Republic
  • DKNY

7.     Stripes

Stripes in all different directions!  Multi-directional stripes in the same garment is a major trend this season.

Check out the runway!

  • Banana Republic
  • Altuzarra
  • Zimmermann
  • Valentino

8.     Khaki

Khaki has been redefined from utilitarian to a more regal look this Spring/Summer 2017.

Some runways featuring khaki include:

  • Creatures of Comfort
  • Public School
  • Carolina Herrera
  • J. Crew

9.     Off-the-Shoulder

Showing off the decolletage and the tops of the arms is always lovely.  This season, it’s more prevalent than ever!

Some designers who showed the off-the-shoulder look for Spring/Summer 2017:

  • Diana von Furstenburg
  • Proenza Schouler
  • David Koma

 10.     Puffed Sleeves

Somewhere between the Victorian Era and the 1980s lies the new style of puffed sleeves.  Almost every major designer showed some form of the trend on the Spring/Summer runway.

Here’s a brief overview of some of those designers:

  • Saint Laurent
  • Alexander McQueen
  • Simone Rocha
  • Dries Van Noten
  • Rodarte

  • Zang Toi

These are my Top 10 Trends for Spring/Summer 2017.  What are your favorites?  Which ones will you be wearing this season?  Drop a comment below and let me know!  I would love to hear from you!

  1. Except for the last two, everything seems to be part of my personal style and already exists in my closet. I am drawn to those sleeves though. Time to go shopping 😀

  2. Everything is so lovely! I love the statement tees–I own a lot of those! I’ll probably be wearing them during Spring.

  3. I have to say that I have been reading that pink is in this year which is kind of surprising. And I can definitely imagine this year with the political climate that statement T’s would also be quite popular. It’s really hard to imagine that khaki is a thing though. I will be curious to see.

  4. I’m totally digging the floral prints and can’t get enough of them! Something about the pink and flowers make it so perfect for spring – thanks for this share!

  5. ah! you can’t go wrong with a simple clean-cut shirt dress. They are indeed so versatile and comfortable and you can easily dress them up with heels and red lips! Mine is from asos and I’ve had it for years now!

  6. Loving all these trends you mentioned! I have seen a lot of fashion bloggers incorporate the yellow and ruffles so I am sure we will be seeing more of that as we move forward into spring! I personaly love the shirt dress! I think that is the perfect dress for almost any occasion!

  7. Indeed those are the top list! Jump suits, off-shoulders, stripes and floral dresses are really the trend these days. Love your list!

  8. I am taking notes at the moment with these selections. Love the idea of the t-shirts, jumpsuits and a hint of yellow. Not sure I’m looking forward to spring at it snowed this morning but this is a great selection for summer.

  9. I’m glad to see that off-shoulder style is rocking this season. Even stripes and Shirt dresses create signature styles. But I’m in love with yellow hues trending this season. I’ve recently added yellow summer jacket and jumpsuit into my closet and can’t wait to wear them!
