St. Ives Producs

I’ve been using St. Ives products since I was around twelve years old.  I started wearing a little bit of makeup at that time and so I was taught the importance of going to bed with a clean face.  The St. Ives products with certainly help you achieve that perfectly clean and moisturized face that is necessary to keep a healthy glow.

St. Ives Apricot Scrub

To me, the St. Ives Apricot Scrub is their original product because I’ve really used no product as consistently as I have this one.  I used it when I was twelve (or even younger) and I still use to today because, I believe, it the best over-the-counter exfoliator for the price.  It uses mostly natural ingredients which is gentle enough on the skin to not irritate it, yet it contains enough granular material to be abrasive enough to get a good exfoliation.  I would recommend this to just about anyone who is looking for a great natural scrub that will do the job, but not too harshly.  Even Supermodel Gigi Hadid gives the Apricot Scrub high marks and has commented that “It’s been around because it’s the best”.

St. Ives Collagen Elastin Moisteriser

A fellow blogger suggested that I try St. Ives’ Collagen Elastin Moisturizer in lieu of the expensive creams that I had been buying. She promised that it would be good, if not better, than they more expensive creams.  I tried it the first night and found out that she was correct!  From the moment that I applied the cream, my skin felt cool and tight.  Once the cream congealed on my face, it felt firmer and more lifted.  You can’t beat the price of this amazing cream.  It will make a wonderful addition to your face cream collection.

St. Ives Green Tea Scrub

I use the St. Ives Green Tea Scrub after a night out with heavy makeup.  The product definitely helps me clean each pore and give my face an all-over clean feeling.  If I combine it with Apricot Scrub, my face feels extra clean and my risk for a pimple lessens greatly.  I don’t used this Green Tra Scrub everyday because it too harsh for my skin, but I do like to use it on those nights when I’ve worn a lot of makeup and need a deep cleansing.

Essential Oils and Why They Work What Essential Oils Can Do For Your Skin!

Essential Oils

Essential Oils

Essential oils can play a vital role in your beauty routine if you know their benefits.  Personally, at different times, I use three of the essential oils and then I also use a blended oil by L’oreal when my skin is feeling particularly parched (like right now!).  It’s important to differentiate between the essential oils so that you will know which ones to use either all over or at different locations on your face.

1.     Argan Oil

argan-oil

Argan oil contains antioxidants, vitamin E, and essential fatty acids.  It’s full of the stuff we need to look our best!  Also, don’t worry about clogged pores.  It balances and neutralizes your natural oil production.  Because of this, it actually helps with acne and blemishes.  It’s also especially gentle on people with sensitive skin conditions like eczema and rosacea.

It’s also an anti-aging serum because it protects the skin’s elasticity.  And, the great news is that it is light enough to be used as a daily moisturizer and hydrating enough to be used as an overnight treatment.  With all these benefits, Argan oil is truly a miracle oil!

2.     Rosehip Oil

Rosehip OIl
What do the Duchess of Cambridge, Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham and Miranda Kerr all have in common? Reportedly, they use rosehip oil to keep their skin smooth and blemish-free.

Rosehip oil’s anti-aging properties come from antioxidants and the oil’s ability to penetrate into deeper layers of the skin.  Vitamins A and C stimulate collagen production as well.  Rosehip oil also protects you from age spots which can be loathsome.  The antioxidants combat free radicals that cause sun damage.  Vitamin A, combined with the oil’s essential fatty acids, can help improve skin tone, texture, and pigmentation.

3.     Vitamin C Oil

Vitamin C Oil

Vitamin C oil does most of what argan oil and rosehip oil does, it just does it all-in-one.  The other two are great for specific, targeted troublesome areas, but Vitamin C oil will treat everything!  I find it great to have all three so that I can use them according to my skin’s needs of the moment.  For example, if I’m worried about my skin tone or sun damage, I would use rosehip oil.  If I wanted to treat acne or combat anti-aging effects, I would use the argan oil, but for a generalized treatment of my face and neck, I would use Vitamin C oil.

Vitamin C oil is a very effective antioxidant and fights free radicals that cause aging.  It also inhibits melanin production.  Melanin can lead to age spots which nobody wants!  It also increases the production of collagen which is great for the face and neck.

4.     L’oreal Age Perfect Glow Renewal

Loreal Glow Renewal

L’oreal’s Glow Renewal is comprised of a unique blend of eight essential oils.  These oils restore skin’s youthful glow and deeply nourish and replenish dull, dry skin.  It’s non-greasy and absorbs quickly for all-day hydration.  I’ve found all these to be true as I use this product when my skin is dry and needs extra nourishment.  It’s definitely perfect for that!

Here are the eight essential oils:

  • English Lavender
  • Rosemary Leaf
  • Geranium
  • Orange Peel
  • Roman Chamomile
  • Rose Flower
  • Lavandin
  • Marjoram Leaf
