It’s All About the Embroidered Jacket! A Perfect Fall/Winter Wardrobe Staple

This embroidered jacket is one of my favorites!  It is a staple in my fall/winter wardrobe.  It’s a three button fitted cotton jacket with intricate embroidery detail as you can see from the front.  Also, the front angle shows a pink lace underpinning from Ann Taylor along with a rose and pink necklace that complements the jacket.

The view of the detailing from the back was even more beautiful.  Not only is the stitching breathtaking, but the colors are so vibrant.  The most prominent colors are rose, orange, yellow. and blue.  The back of this jacket is where we really get to see the embroidery and all its intricacies.

This necklace completes the outfit as it contains neutral colors as well as colors contained in the jacket.  It also matches the underpinning by Ann Taylor which is also a neutral.  When styling a colorful and heavily embroidered piece like this jacket, it’s always best to go light on underpinning and jewelry so as not to clutter the outfit.  I chose these pieces especially for this jacket so that they would be understated and complement the jacket instead of clash or take away from it.

While ornate, the jacket is still casual so I would not wear it in a formal setting.  With its frayed edges and distressed fabric, this jacket would be perfect with jeans.  It could also be worn with a skirt and some ballet flats or wedge heel sandals which would also be appropriate if you chose the look with jeans.

Where would you wear this outfit?  Almost anywhere you would like!  Personally, I think it’s a great brunch/lunch outfit either with jeans or a skirt because it’s a great conversation piece.  All of your girlfriends are going to want to see the stitching and look at the different designs.  You could also wear this jacket on a leisurely day shopping or a day at the park with your husband or boyfriend.  The possibilities are endless, but one thing is for sure, this jacket will turn heads!

Polka Dots & Leather Skirt Anyone? A Beautiful Pattern and Texture Mixture

B&W Polka Dot & Leather Skirt

This outfit blends a polka dot patterned blouse with a leather textured skirt by Ann Taylor to create an alluring silhouette.  The leather red belt brings the outfit together by creating a focal point for which the eye is drawn.  The coordinated necklace mimics the polka dots found in the blouse and adds another dimension to the outfit.  As a whole, this outfit is visually pleasing with a flair.

For other accessories, I would wear a pair of studded earrings or a very simple pair of complementary drop earrings.  I would be sure to keep it simple so as not to clash with the outfit.  Whether to wear tights with this ensemble depends, in part, on the weather and your geographical location.  I’m located in Florida and it’s not “tight weather” too often.  However, a pair of black tights would look great with this outfit.  For shoes, I wear my ankle boots with this outfit.  I just purchased a new pair for the season and I can’t wait to show them to you!  Knee high boots will also work well here too. This outfit is so ornate that few accessories are necessary.  If you overdo your accessories, the impact of the outfit will suffer.

This outfit is one my favorites for fall because the blouse is summer breezy and carefree while the leather skirt brings a heavier more cold seasonal feel.  It’s blending the two seasons into one outfit. Because this outfit includes a leather skirt and you are likely to wear either black ankle boots or knee high boots, I think this is a great day-to-evening outfit.  The blouse is light and carefree which makes it great for day whereas the leather skirt and boots give it a more nighttime look.  For brunch, lunch, or dinner, this outfit will make you stand out like a true Fashionista!  Not only will this outfit turn heads, it will make you the center of attention!
