Spring is just around the corner and, of course, that means that Spring/Summer trends will be in full bloom!  Last September, the runways were full of beautiful trends for Spring/Summer 2017.  I was lucky enough to see some of the trends as I attended New York Fashion Week.  I have narrowed down the trends to my Top 10 most prevalent trends that we will see this season.

1.     Statement Tees

From New York to Paris, Statement Tees were all over the runways.  With messages ranging from political to self-promoting of a designer’s own brand, these Statement Tees can be paired with just about anything and still look chic!

Here are some designers who showed Statement Tees for Spring/Summer 2017:

  • Haider Ackermann
  • Baja East
  • Michael Kors
  • Christian Dior

2.     Pink Hues

Pink, in all different shades, was seen on the Spring/Summer 2017 runway.  From baby pink to raspberry, pink was a dominant force among almost all the collections.

Here are some designers that displayed various shades of pink:

  • Celine
  • Balenciaga
  • Valentino

3.     Flower Power

Flowers are expected for Spring, but the floral patterns will be more dense this season.

Some designers who debuted all-over floral prints in their collections were as follows:

  • Michael Kors Collection

  • Gucci
  • Delpozo
  • Coach
  • Jason Wu

6.     Shirtdress

The Shirtdress has been seen on the runways of the following designers:

  • Balenciaga
  • Alexander Wang
  • Rag & Bone
  • 3.1 Phillip Lim
  • Banana Republic

Stripes in all different directions!  Multi-directional stripes in the same garment is a major trend this season.

Check out the runway!

8.     Khaki

Khaki has been redefined from utilitarian to a more regal look this Spring/Summer 2017.

Some runways featuring khaki include:

  • Creatures of Comfort

9.     Off-the-Shoulder

Showing off the decolletage and the tops of the arms is always lovely.  This season, it’s more prevalent than ever!

Why Do We Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day?

St. Patrick’s Day or the Feast of St. Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland, is a cultural and religious observance and celebration of the date of his death in AD 461.  Saint Patrick’s Day was made an official Christian feast day in the early 17th century and is observed by the Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion (especially the Church of Ireland), the Eastern Orthodox Church, and the Lutheran Church.

The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, and celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general. Celebrations generally involve public parades and festivals and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks. Christians also attend church services and historically the Lenten restrictions on eating and drinking alcohol were lifted for the day, which encouraged and propagated the holiday’s tradition of alcohol consumption.

Pantone’s Color of the Year

Most fittingly for St. Patrick’s Day, in late 2016, Pantone selected Greenery as their Color of the Year for 2017.  It’s the perfect shade of green!

My St. Patrick’s Day Outfit

I did a flatlay of my St. Patrick’s Day outfit and I am very excited to show it to you.

The Blouse

Green Printed Blouse

This green patterned blouse is from Ann Taylor.  I have had it for a couple of years and now seems like a great time to debut it!  Also, bold prints are a big trend this Spring so why not wear this one?  It’s a blended texture of silk and synthetic fibers.
