Inspiration is what my blog is all about so I thought I would begin my first journal entry with three of my favorite inspirational quotes.

Inspiration does exist, but it must find you working.” – Pablo Picasso

“People are not lazy.  They simply have impotent goals – that is, goals that do not inspire them.” – Tony Robbins

“Our chief want is someone to inspire us to be what we know we could be.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

The first quote by Picasso, I believe, is probably the most important because I firmly believe that we must be busy to get inspired.  I know that I’ve had the best ideas for this blog as well as for the other things that I do in my life when I’ve been really busy.  Busyness brings inspiration.  When your mind is busy, your unconscious is also busy coming up with ways to keep you busy.  At least, that’s my theory.  It’s motivation for me not to sit around and allow my inspiration muscle to wain.

The second quote by Tony Robbins is quite inspiring in and of itself.  We are not lazy, just uninspired.  When you get truly motivated or inspired about something, you hustle.  You want to get to working on it as soon as possible and get it done well!  This quote is saying that all people need is proper inspiring goals and they won’t be “lazy” anymore.

The last quote by Emerson is so profound.  We truly do want someone to inspire us to be who or what we always knew we could be.  Having someone give us that validation feels wonderful.  Emerson was brilliant, but even he most likely needed that validation as well.

Be inspired!

Mid-Year Inspirational Quotes

I love quotes.  If you’ve followed my blog for very long, you know that I like to insert a quote post now and again.  Since it’s mid-year, a little inspiration felt appropriate.  After all, we are all chasing dreams!

Mid-Year Inspirational Quotes

Don Yaeger is a friend of mine who writes for Forbes Magazine and Forbes.com.  He is also a nine-time New York Times Best Selling author. He recently wrote an article for Forbes.com that included 45 of his favorite inspirational quotes.  He primarily writes on sports and sports-related topics so many of these quotes are derived from that genre; however, they are inspiring nonetheless.  I chose my seventeen favorite quotes and listed them below for your inspiration and enjoyment.
